The Annapurna region of Nepal, a couple of hundred kilometers northwest of Kathmandu, is renowned for its blend of undisturbed nature, spectacular mountain views, and embracing culture. The Annapurna Circuit is typically rated as one of the "top 20" trekking experiences worldwide...Now that is an understatement!

 

This trek is a spectacular short trek with good Mountain View. The trail includes some bigger Gurung villages as well as national flower forest of rhododendron. Very few places in the world have such a splendid variety of natural beauty. A rare combination of snow-capped peaks, crystal clear lakes, and turbulent rivers with deep gorges, together with Tibetan monasteries, hot springs and picturesque villages are the significances of this trek, all inhabited by simple and friendly ethnic people.
The Panchase trek, a solid option for a short trek into the foothills to the north of Pokhara, especially suitable for the beginners and elderly people but those who wish to have an adventurous trek and a closer view of mighty Himalayan Ranges, is one of the most popular trekking routes in the world offering superb views of the awesome Himals or “snow-covered mountains” of the Annapurna range of the Himalayas. The principal peaks of the western portion of the great Annapurna Himal, including Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Fang, Annapurna, Ganagapurna, Annapurna 3 and Machhapuchhare, are arranged almost precisely in a circle about 10 miles in diameter with a deep glacier-covered amphitheater at the center. We pass through colorful Gurung and Pun villages – Ghorepani, Tadapani and Ghandruk, famous for their hospitality, breathtaking vistas of terraced rice fields, and walks through serene and inspiring forests of pine and rhododendron. This itinerary also includes a hike to the popular viewpoint of Poon Hill, providing a spectacular panoramic view of Manaslu Himal (8th highest mountain in the world), Machhapuchhare (Fish Tail Peak), Annapurna I (10th highest mountain in the world), and Dhaulagiri Himal (7th highest mountain in the world).
Best season to visit: In the spring (March to May) when the rhododendrons, the national flower of Nepal, are in bloom. Also in the fall (September to November) or post-monsoon when the weather is temperate and the skies are clear.

Trek Grade: Easy to Moderate. This is not a difficult trek although it has some steep climbs. No mountaineering skills required.

Maximum altitude: 2070m at ------------.

Length of trek: It is advisable to spend one week along this route to fully experience the full scenic and cultural splendor.

Accommodations: This is traditionally a teahouse trek with well-maintained facilities along the route. It can also be organized as a camping trek as the valley floor can provide comfortable camping spots in good weather. Camping trek rates and fees are considerably higher as more resources are required.

Additional Information: Trekkers must beware of rubbery while passing through the jungle of Ghorepani to Ghandruk. Our experienced porters/guides will help you to avoid potentially unsafe situations.

Outline Itinerary: 7 Days

Day 01	Kathmandu to Pokhara (200 km/ 6-7 hours): Fly or Drive by Private Car or Tourist Bus
Day 02	Pokhara to Bhumdi: ( 1650m) Trek
Day 03	Bhumdi to Panchase Bhanjyang: Trek.
Day 04	Panchase Bhanjyang to Bahundadnda: Trek.
Day 05	Bahundanda to Naudanda to Pokhara: Trek.
Day 06	Pokhara To Kathmandu

Note – Our Itinerary does not include your arrival and departure day to and from Kathmandu, and our fixed dates are the trekking starting date from Kathmandu.

 

 

 

Trek Detailed:

Day 01: Kathmandu to Pokhara (200 km/ 6-7 hours): Drive by bus/car or fly.

After 06-07 hours (according to road conditions) scenic drive by bus or thirty minutes flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara. POKHARA is a beautiful town set on the banks of the Phewa Lake. It is smaller and much less hectic than Kathmandu and is the perfect starting point for our trek.

Day 02: Pokhara to Bhumdi: Drive for one hour, trek.

Early morning an hour drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, you will be passing through Naudanda and Lumle, whilst on clear day, and you can see the awesome view of Annapurna & Manaslu range. Nayapul is a small town located on the bank of Modi River, which is one of the gateways to the Annapurna region. From Nayapul, you will forward to Birethanti, which is located in other side of the river. From Birethanti, start up hill trek to Tikhedhunga. Our five hours trek ends here and overnight at lodge.

Day 03: Bhumdi  to Panchase Bhanjyang : Trek

 

Tikhedhunga to Ulleri is a difficult part of this trek, which takes nearly two hours time. The trail ascends a steep stone staircase to Ulleri village then more pleasantly through rhododendron forest. The trail then goes up gently to the Ghorepani village by passing the dense Rhododendron and Pine forests. Ghorepani is largest Magar village in the area, where there are numerous lodges for trekkers. You can see the good view from the lodge too. After our six hours trek end, we will arrive at the top of the Ghorepani. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 04: Panchase Bhanjyang to Bahundanda: Trek.

Early morning, hike two hours up to Poon hill from Ghorepani village, best spot to see the marvelous view of Manaslu in the east and Dhaulagiri to the west including unrivalled views of Machhapuchhare Annapurna, Hiunchuli and as well as Sunrise view. Then we lead our trek east from Ghorepani village along the ridge, which offers glorious views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. From here, we lead down to Banthanti our lunch spot. Then the trail goes down to the Tadapani stream then leads up again through the thick forest to Tadapani village. Our six-hour trek duration finishes here for today. This day is up and down walking through the magnificent stand of giant rhododendrons....

Day 05: Bahundanda to Naudanda to Pokhara trek, 720m descent

 

The Ghandruk trail descends steeply through forests. There are two trails from here, both of which lead to Ghandruk. The paths descents on stone steps into the village. Ghandruk is famous village where Gurung people used to live.

Day 06:Pokhara to Kathmandu (200 km/ 6-7 hours): Drive by bus/car or fly.
Drive by tourist bus from Pokhara to Kathmandu around 06-07 hours (depending upon road conditions). Another option is to drive by private car or take the 25-30 minutes flight from Pokhara back to Kathmandu.
